HISTORY

A destination with
a story.

Mount Meru is a dormant stratovolcano reaching about 4,565 metres. Geological evidence records major collapses and volcanic activity that shaped its horseshoe-shaped crater and surrounding landscape; the last known ash eruption occurred in 1910. Today Mount Meru sits within the Arusha-Meru landscape and is valued both as a trekking destination and as an acclimatisation option before Kilimanjaro.
